Lessons from a Broken Camera
Just a few days ago, misfortune struck as my cell phone camera decided to call it quits on life. At first, I was faced with the unpleasant task of preparing my phone for warranty return, but what I didn't expect was that formatting it would mean losing everything: photos, videos, two years' worth of memories vanished in the blink of an eye. Desperation gripped me as I realized I had no backup of anything. However, amidst the frustration, something curious happened: after rebooting the phone, the camera sprung back to life as if nothing had happened. This small technological victory was a reminder that sometimes, even when things seem to be at their worst, they can take an unexpected turn. But the most important lesson I learned was the need for organization and backup. Among the recovered files, I found a gem: a photo I captured years ago amidst the pandemic, the city that never sleeps, New York, illuminated by night. This image not only transported me to a moment of beauty and tranquility amidst the chaos but also reminded me of the importance of preserving our memories and being prepared for any eventuality.
